Jan Seifert was born January 1975 in Ludwigsburg, Germany. He studied psychology from 1995- 2001 in Trier. Since 1996 he was employed as "Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft" in the electroencephalographical laboratory at the university in Trier. He received the degree of a Dipl.-Psych. in 2001 for a thesis about negative priming in an emotional context at the Universität Trier.
As "Wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft" Jan Seifert had participated in electrophysiological research since his "early days" of studying. In 2002 he was on the staff of the EEG laboratory in Trier in a project supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG). Since June, 2003 he is holder of a scholarship of the "Landesgraduiertenförderung" at the Universität Trier. His research interests focus on the emotional and motivational aspects of attentional processes.
